  • What quality source audio is good for Blu-Ray DVDs?

For normal SD DVDs, I know 48 KHz, 16-bit audio was suitable as source audio quality.

I’m looking into making a significant investment in stock audio (music, SFX, etc…). I’d like to ‘future-proof’ myself a bit for the day that Blu-Ray becomes mainstream. What minimum source audio quality should I be looking for?

    Is 48KHz, 16-bit still acceptable for blu-ray?

    Hello Phillip,

Actually getting any sources of SFX and/or music over 16-bit, 44.1 may be a problem. 🙂 Most of those files are sent out on regular CDs.

There may be higher res versions. I haven’t bothered to look lately.

    Anyone?

    Regards,
