What new product do you think Blackmagic will announce at IBC2018? (if any)

my guess –
1) they bought AVID, and are now giving away Media Composer
2) they bought the GVG Group, and now a Quantel Rio is $1500. and The GVG Korona is now $5999.

oh – I am so funny

but in a twist of events –
Belden buys Blackmagic and raises all of their prices.

I’d laugh, but I’m worried some of those things aren’t as far fetched as they once seemed.

The Belden thing might happen in reverse – Blackmagic always said they wanted to be the Grass Valley of the future.

Not that I think they’ll do it anytime soon, but I always wanted to see Blackmagic release a low cost fixed lens camcorder.

After releasing their eGPU product, I wonder if they could actually release an editing appliance. Who really needs laptops/PCs anymore – and they’re making all the software needed anyway. Maybe a Linux-based portable system like an Intel NUC ready to accessorize with Thunderbolt 3.
