What is the format I should use to burn a DVD?
I have Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 and am wondering the following: I have made a movie in 17 minutes and saved it to “my hard drive” with format “video Windovs (* avi) ” and it was at 3.8 GB. What is the format I should use to burn a DVD? If the video is approximately 45 minutes, it will get very large. I’m not talking about movies in HD format.

Then press the Make Movie button and follow the Wizard prompts for DVD.

DVD’s require MPEG2 format but you can drop an AVI file into DVD Architect Studio and it will convert it for you. If you want to render it yourself use the MainConcept MPEG2 type with one of the DVD Architect templates.

Also, if you are going to use the DVDA Architect templates, be sure to encode the audio in .ac3 format.

Since it’s only a 45 min. video, PCM (i.e. WAV) is fine.
You just have to tell DVDA that you’re using that audio format instead of AC-3.
