  • what is the Default.sfvidcap file?

Posted by Gilles Gagnon on September 2, 2010 at 7:55 pm

I saw a post trying to describe this but I didn’t understand it.

After I capture a video, I’m asked if I want to save the Default.sfvidcap file. What does it contain and what is it used for?

    Cheers,

    Gilles

This file contains the start and stop points of all captured footage.
I save this file (and give it a relevant name) only if I do batch captures of segments of a tape.
If it’s an entire tape captured, I see no point in saving it as I know I captured the entire tape.

    Thanks Mike.

Now I understand and will continue to not save the file as I also always capture contiguous portions of the tape.

As always, thanks for taking the time to answer.
