I’m way over my head with a request to do a broadcast video feed.

What is the cheapest way to broadcast video a short distance?

I have been tasked with creating a video broadcast from one building to another. We cannot run cables, so I need something through the air. I’m willing to rent or purchase equipment if necessary, but want the least expensive way to go.

Line of site can probably be achieved if that is helpful, but I’m way over my head, as I know nothing about broadcast.

Trango has 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz FM systems in the $1500 to $3000 range. I’ve seen these systems for rent, as well.

Thanks… about $6000 worth! I just probably eliminated myself with an $11,000 offer to subcontract satellite trucks because I couldn’t find this very thing.

    Should have consulted Cow sooner.

Maybe it isn’t too late for an alternative offer.

    Thanks again!

Video baluns over POTS lines, tactical optical fiber (used for golf remotes a lot), renting Canon’s optical canobeam system rooftop to rooftop, and internet streaming. You might look into renting an eng microwave truck from the local TV station as well, if it’s off-hours.
