I’m trying to find out what the best codec to use in the following situation using Vegas 9 and DVDA 5:

I have 1 hour 40 minute video. I will be making both Blu-rays and DVDs. I only want to render the project once. So I guess I’m looking for the best settings/codec to render to and let DVDA do the rest.

    Thanks!

I only want to render the project once.

If that’s what you’re after, I would render to HD MPEG2 using one of the Blu-ray templates and use that to create a Blu-ray disc in DVD Architect. Then after creating your Blu-ray disc, just switch the DVD Architect project to DVD and let it convert the Blu-ray files to DVD MPEG2 and burn to DVD. This will be taking an HD 25Mbps file and converting it to a DVD 6Mbps file which should maintain high quality.
