What is “Critical Exception?”
Just starting out on Resolve but when i try to create a new database for my files to go to instead of clogging up my local database this pop box keeps happening. Can some help me understand this. I like resolve and want to improve my color correcting skill set.

It can be a number of issues which is why the warning includes advice to contact BM and submit a report. Creating a new database is something I do periodically and I’ve not had this issue, so it may be you don’t have the correct permissions, depending on the OS you operate and the level you are logged in as. Just a guess, but it is best to contact BlackMagic and get feedback when they can read (and understand) the error log you partially show in your image.

Did you create the database from within resolve, or through another program, and you are trying to connect to it through resolve?
Did you change the default username and password when you created the database? (You can’t)
Other than that…yes, check permissions on the drive you are trying to create the database.
It is usually a pretty simple process, unless you are trying to do something “fancy” when you create it.
