First off thanks for just reading.
I want to run Final Cut Pro 5 or 6. I currently have on old G5 tower which wont allow to run FCP 5 or 6. Any suggestions on which Mac Models will let my run the program? I prefer to buy used. What technical aspects should I look for?

It depends how serious you are about editing if you just make the occasional home video the lowest end imac is perfectly fine if you’re a pro then you’ll want a mac pro for the extra expansion im assuming youre a hobbiest… any of the new imacs will easliy run fcp…i actually have fcp studio 2 on an old imac g5 runs perfectly fine not as fast as my mac pro but still just fine

I have an Intel iMac about 3 years or more old. It runs FCP and Motion just fine. I bet you could find one awfully cheap these days.

Amir is right, if you’re not going to use it that much get an imac, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, buy cheap, buy twice. If you’re going to use FCP properly you’ll need a Mac Pro.
