    Hey all,

I’ve been handed a drive with captured footage and a project file on it. Its HDV PAL and the question is.. The audio tracks in the timeline have been..how to describe.. divided up? The same grey bar which divides the video and audio tracks in the timeline also divides my audio tracks. It can be dragged to include up to five tracks but not all the tracks and I cannot for the life of me work out what it is or why it has been done. Its not a biggie but can anyone explain it? Its not something I’ve ever used in my own edits, perhaps I should have been? Perhaps it will give me grief down the line I can avoid?

    Cheers

You hold down option and drag the handles to the right of the video/audio separating line of the timeline. You drag the top one up to include video trax and the bottom handle down to include audio trax. Just drag the handles back together to return it to normal. With the scroll bars above and below your new center selection, you can hide or display some audio or video trax.
It’s only for display purposes, shouldn’t screw you up unless you overlook something on a hidden layer..
