I’ve had a recurring issue with editing some 4K footage where when playing the footage back it showing a solid red frame instead of and video.

I’ve spoken with Adobe customer service who told me this is a known issue and to go into Edit-Pref-Media and uncheck “Enable Intel H.264 acceleration decoding”.

This has fixed the issue but I’m wandering if my PC is affected in any way by doing this or what exactly it has done.
