Ok.. So I shot the footage using my 7D. imported with the canon plug-in with setting of Apple Pro Res 4444. (I read somewhere i should of used 422–too late for that)…. when I export using current setting.. it export a 720×480 video of SD.. is it that I never set up the timeline for HD at the start of the project? i changed the sequence preset to (apple Pro res 1920X1080 24P 48KHZ from the audio and video settings tab) but if I hit Command 0 it says “frame 720 x480 Aspect Ratio NTSC (3:2)
    quicktime video setting dv/dvcpro-NTSC”
thats why i figured it’s probably cause i never set it up at initial start of project….
i did the export quicktime movie using Quicktime Conversion..changed the dimensions to 1280 X720 and it gave me the video at HD size.. but while on the canvas and on export a few transitions that I have come of the main video 16X9 area.. Hmm..(transitions from Noise Industries .ie Flame/volumetrix2) is it that the canvas has to be resized or all the footage has to be resized maybe? Hmm
here is a picture of what happens

    Hi Tony,
I think you should start again with a proper workflow.
Convert your footage to Prores and conform your sequence to that stuff.

reminder video is already at pro res 4444.. entire project is finished/edited.. can’t afford to star over
    Due this afternoon.. YIKES!!!
Dont have a blue ray anyways..so i’ll have to export to SD anyway.. so curious on where I went wrong… dont even remember what i did.i think since i just opened up a project. Imported using canon plug-in and just threw everything on Time line.. the whole project is about 4 cards of 16GB.. all comment at my video.. suggestions..etc.. this video was a major learning experience.. Few shaky shots i’m not too happy about but permisable. thanx again..

so curious at why those two effects run over my 16X9 box

oh this is the video here

    OK.
You converted the footage to Prores 1920 x 1080.
Then by mistake you started to edit in a DV NTSC sequence.
When you tried to reset the sequence back to 1920 x 1080, you did it wrong.

    – Take any of your Prores and drop it in a new Sequence.
    – Conform the sequence to the clip.
    – Copy and paste all the stuff in the wrong sequence (NTSC) to the new Prores 1920×180 sequence.
    – Select all the stuff on the sequence and “Remove Attributes > Basic motion + Distort.
No you should have a proper 1920×1080 edit.
Export and downscale with Compressor if needed.
    DON”T USE QT Conversion.

Rafael.. thanx a mill.. dont know why i did not think of this msyelf.wow.. Doing it now.. just one quick question.. at the Comman0 window where i see my sequence setting.. frame size is 1920×1080 but what is the aspect ratio suppose to be at? (HD 1280×1080) there is no list on the drop down that says 1920×1080.. and still on the same window (quicktime video setting) compressor is supposed to be set at Apple Pro res 4444? its just that I played around with these setting before and dont know if that was there from me playing around with it before.. thanx again.in advance.

    oh..and pixel aspect ratio

wow.. this conform to sequence thing.. did fill up canvas doing it right now.. and the quality wow.. now i can really see how great this thing looks.. from my 7d with the 28-70 lens.. have to do each clip manually though.. once all i selected the command is greyed out.. ..so step one is working good so far

    Great.
As you said the “pixels aspect” messed the things.
Is good that you are able to build an standard sequence by your self without the help of presets or “sequence conform”.Then is easy for you to identify the source of this kind issues so usual.
About your Prores choice (444), that codec only makes sense if you capture through an AJA or so. If you are just transcoding, plain Prores is the one you should use.
    Cheers,

thanx.. small little issue.. I just noticed.. I pasted my entire video looks great..( all the edits are done already).. but my edits are gone.. footage is there but not really what I chose for that particular scenes..its almost like i resequenced the video.. all screwed up.. any idea why.. sorry for being a pain.. I thought i was good to go.. FYI there are a bunch of edits everywhere.. slow motions.. etc.. all at 24P

    Hi Toni,
So probably we have screwed the time-base when we have done the new sequence.
Both sequences must to have the same time-base.
You should only lose the animations or key frames on “Basic motion” and ‘Distort’ withe the Attributes removal.

thanx for you help.. ..what I did was this.. Selected entire sequence..
chose.. from the menu sequence—> nest items.. then pasted it into the new timelie.. and it worked fine..Now when I export at current settings.. it does give me the entire exact 1920×1080.. Don’t know if this was the way.. but it worked.. was this the correct way to fix my problem? now funny thing is that I went to dvd.. and I tried letterbox and still and no matter what I choose it still comes out 4:3 Hmmmm..
    thanx in advance
