What format to render for making a DVD?
Thanks for all help, now I can make my movie…
I bought Sony Vegas HD Platinum 10 today 🙂One last problem is still there.
When I want to render my movie, I want to do it for my dvd-player to watch on either TV or projector.
I want it of course as goodlooking as possible, since I have highres pictures and movies in HD.As far as I understand it is MPEG2 I should chose for it.
The only option I have for that when I render is:
“Main Concept MPEG2 (*.mpg,*.m2v,*.m2t,*.mpa)
That gives me a file named: *.m2t…which no program on my computer can start.What is the proper filename I should render it to?
I have looked at youtube and really tried to find a sollution to this.
Do i miss a codec or?Please help

I don’t have studio, but look for a preset for DVD Architect. You probably selected an HDV preset which is why you got the M2T file.
You also need to render the audio to .ac3 using the same filename.

Well I can get any format Sony Vegas offer, but the question is: wich one should I use for best performance in a regular dvd-player?Now I have tried several different ones, and burned em to disc´s…none work, or they have poor quality.
I think I will need to buy a dvd-player that can handle WMA-format.
Seems like PS3 can handle em all.
Im so tired spending money on yet another “player” since I allready have 2 DVD-players./Stefan

DVDs that play in DVD players MUST be in MPEG2 format.

However…I figured out that high res Wmv gave me the best quality.
Then I bought Xilisoft (sheap shareware)to convert it to dvd. The program also made menu´s for my dvd…after that, it burns the whole thing to suitable format to be palyed on my dvd-player.
Just a few click´s and youre done 🙂/Stefan
