    Hey guys,

This is just one of those posts where everybody lists their preferences, but in this case for keying out any chroma or luminance value, what set of effects do you guys prefer to use that you have become accustomed to using?

    Mine:

For Chroma Keying I have found that the Foundry Key light works pretty well combined with a Matt Choke and then to touch up any green color along the body near the edges I use as many swap color layers as needed to key out anything extra.

For Luminance, I usually use a transfer mode or Go to the Luminance effect, but the problem I keep having with that is rippling along the outline of the actor, even noticeable with a Matt Choke on top

Let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance!

Crazy Story actually… This production company that hired 2 freelancers to shoot and key out actors that I would touch up for for a flash project in post…But when I received the video it was pretty crazy…half of the videos were keyed out and the other half had a black background behind the actors…don’t ask me how it happened, but my company deals with emergency advertising and we had a day to do it…They relied on me to key out the black which was nuts! It got so bad that I ended up telling them (the video production company that did the keying originally) to re-export and double check their renders to make sure there was no more black…guess what? There wasn’t after the second time…

Crazy situation…but I guess I am just curious to see what’s out there for future emergencies like this one I had.
