What effect was used here?
I was watching some after effects created video and I came across a very unique video that had a very unique effect that I can’t seem to figure out what it is. It looks like trapcode particular but I am not entirely sure about this…

the effect comes on at around 0:16, it is the white trail that follows the guy as he falls down. Is this trapcode particular with some form of rotobrush trickery?

If you’re referring to the white lines that draw on towards the figure, it could probably be done with shape layers, the roughen edges effect, and a linear wipe. Change the blend mode and opacity to blend it with the scene a little more.
