I just tried to open a project and got a message that says:
“The project’s Master/Affiliate data has become unusable. To create new Master/Affiliate clip relationships in this project, use the Create Master Clips command.” Does this mean my project file is corrupted? I can’t access the Create Master Clips command, as it suggests, because as soon as I click on OK, FCP crashes.

Try trashing your FCP preference files. If that doesn’t do it then run DiskWarrior on your media drives to make sure the disk directories are in good shape so FCP can see your media files properly.
