March 20, 2023 at 12:39 pmInteresting article, thank you, although one might suggest that any answer coming out of ChatGPT would be “generative AI”. Helping keeping professionals in the Post Production business informed (You have to read the article to understand the somewhat down-played joke).
But the real biggie that is missing, even though Adobe is mentioned twice, it did not care to include Adobe Sensei. (https://www.adobe.com/uk/sensei.html)
Is this because an older version of ChatGPT was used?
How the questions were formulated?
Or, is Adobe missing a trick in their SEO/web-tags?Nevertheless, maybe we should start thinking of Adobe Sensei being both a tool for “AI and generative AI” in Post-Production?
As it becomes everyday use for many of users working with masks and removing objects, it is difficult these days to live without the Content-Aware Fill function in After Effects – which, could rightfully be described as a “Generative AI” effect.
(https://www.adobe.com/uk/sensei/creative-cloud-artificial-intelligence.html)Just one example of many. 😀

March 28, 2023 at 6:57 amHey Selen,
I agree, ChatGPT will only tell you that A.I. can generate visual content, but won’t necessarily be able to do it by itself.
Then there is the question as to whether A.I. can generate anything new, out of nothing?
As there would have needed to be some Machine Learning for the A.I. to know what an object or expression is – take a tree as one example, or a smiling child. There are tools coming through that are allowing you to generate images and video from text (and audio). Although not perfect, it is worth taking note of what is to come, and consider how we as a professionals fits in to this new world:
https://runwayml.com/#generate-videosHere is a newsletter that was released in time for the Academy Awards, all out of some interesting R&D at Storia.ai:
https://oscars.storia.ai/Midjourney is another one in development that looks interesting, check out their showcase:
https://www.midjourney.com/showcase/recent/If you haven’t seen this, even though it is audio only, head over and read this article + watch the video:

Copyright infringement suits might soon be a thing of the past, or it might expand big time.
But how do you sue an A.I., or more importantly, how do you stop an A.I. from using your footage/designs/masters?NFT, non-fungible tokens might suddenly get a whole new extended purpose. 🙂
