  • What do I do when I cannot select unlimited RT/only: play base layer?

I am editing a show shot in DVCAM anamorphic, and captured from a DVcam deck using the “DV NTSC anamorphic” capture settings.

Once I put the footage into a DV NTSC anamorphic timeline… I have to render each time I do a cut on the second layer of footage. (This is a two camera shoot and I like to stack the two layers).

For some reason, I cannot adjust the settings to unlimited RT… what is up with this footage?
FCP does not give me the option to pick RT or Unlimited RT, it just says “play base layer only”.

    Any thoughts?

    Did I capture incorrectly?

I have checked all my settings and can’t figure this out.

Check item properties for the sequence and item properties for the clips. Report on what it says for each.

    All the best,
