    Hi guys,

Here’s my problem I can’t use image compression I have to have 1:1 lossless playback with alpha. Every single pixel counts for my final playback. The only codec I know of that is truly lossless (not visually lossless) is the Animation codec. The drawbacks of Animation codec are that it’s old and appears to be losing support from many software developers, particularly Apple as they phase out quicktime pro. As well it’s 8 bit and the file sizes are huge.

Can anyone suggest an alternate codec that is truly lossless? I found this website which claims to offer an alternative but it has dead links.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Set the codec to “None” for uncompressed 8-bpc RGB(A) with full chroma sub-sampling. Note that file size will be larger than Animation. The DPX codec supports higher bit depth, if available with your encoder. The only way to get smaller file sizes is with a compressed codec; PRORES 4:4:4:4 would likely be the best choice. JPEG2000 offers lossless compression with 8-bpc depth in RGB color.
