Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy What capture settings should I use for 1080i HDV from a Canon Xl H1 via Firewire?

    Have you tried the HDV 1080i Easy Setup? I’ve brought in material from a Sony FX1 HDV camera and the easy setup has worked perfectly for both the capture and timeline. I had previously tried to do my own sequence & capture settings and didn’t have the greatest luck.

    Sounds like you might have the DV downconvert option in the camera turned on. Check your camera is set to HDV over firewire in the settings.

    I checked my settings and the AV>DV is set to OFF and HD DOWN-CONV is greyed out.
    When i play the tape back it says HDV60i in the view finder.

    When I try the HDV-1080i60 Easy Setup i get this error:

    Unable to loacte the following external devices:

    HDV (1440×1080) 30 fps

    When I go to capture I get this error…

    Unable to initizlize Capture Device and Device Control

    Any ideas?
