Thanks Douglas for the reply to my last question. I have another. I have just sold my DVX100 camera and I am looking to purchase an HD model. The camera’s in my budget are as follows:

    Canon XH A1
    Sony Z1U
    Sony V1U
    Sony A1U

Would you recommend one over the other? I pimarily will shoot weddings/corporate parties (sometimes in low light situations) but I would also like the 24p look if possible.

I may have a great deal on the Canon XL H1 camera as well.. Any thoughts on that??

    Thanks..

If you have to deal with low light and like 24p, then the Canon A1 is a no-brainer, IMO. The V1 has -some- advantages, but in low light, the Canon is slightly better.

Is there advantages going with a Sony camera if using Vegas? Will Vegas capture HD from a Canon seamlessly?

With limited exception (Canon palmcorders with 24p), Vegas doesn’t care if the camera is Canon, JVC, Sony, Grass Valley, whatever….excepting Panasonic DVCProHD. Even then, there are plug-ins/third party tools.
If it’s a digital camera in virtually any format, Vegas will work with it.

I have both a Z1 and an A1U. Both are in perfect shape and have some extras. When I bought them, they were about all that was out there. I shot a movie with them but now plan to go to 24p cameras exclusively. If you would be interested in used equipment, contact me at:
