  • What are tips or best practices for logging with Log and Transfer?

I’m about to start logging 56 hours of AVCHD footage for a documentary I’m making. I’m trying to plan out my work flow pretty carefully before starting to go through all this.

When working with tapes, I’d always log and transfer the whole tape and work with that. However, given the size of these AVCHD clips once they’re uncompressed, I don’t want to decompress all of it, only what i think i might want.

For that reason, I’m going to log with log and transfer. I’ve not done this before. Any advice or tips would be welcome.

Moreover, I’m still planning my overall logging strategy e.g. exactly what information I want to give in shorthand for each clip i make. Any advice or best practices for this would be appreciated. Links to other sites or recommended reading would also be great.

    Thanks in advance!,

Like working from tapes, as long as you’re organized, it’ll be fine.
Make sure all your card media is folder organized (your reels).
    Back up your card masters.
