Activity Forums Adobe After Effects what are these effects/composite modes used in this video?

To be simple would be to say the video uses multiple 3d layers to crate the illusions of depth (such as the city scenes) and applies filters over the top of them to create the warped colors, small effects, etc.

    Maybe that’s a little vague?

The scenes with the brown background could be overlapped layers of two looping segments and a filter applied over the imagery of the lead singer.

I can break it down scene by scene if you need more info…

    Thanks Micheal.. thats really helpful.

I’m quite skilled in FCPro but I’m a beginner in After Effects however, i am really looking to re-create this effect in a film.

Any info you could give me on how to do this would be great. If you could do a scene by scene break down i’d be very very greatful!

I am curious to know if you can tell what is created in AE?

Is it all stock footage that has been coloured and tweaked or are some of the effects (like the stars for example) purely created in AE?

Also, the video has the effect of cut out film.. almost like a scrap book. Do you know how that was created?

No problem. Give me some time and I’ll give it my best shot.
