B&H has the NANOFLASH listed at $3700. Can it record at any frame rate? 1080 60p at 100mbps or even 50mbps would just be killer. Or is it limted by the camera’s max base ability? which for the ex3 is 1080 30p or 720 60P.

    Checkout the website

It’s now public knowledge. Resellers pricing will adjust before shipping in June I’m sure. Better get your order in.

These recorders can only record the frame rate they are provided. I don’t think there are any cameras spitting out 1080 60p via SDI.

    Hi Michael,
I order the Nano-Flash a couple of months ago too.
    I’m really excited.
Imagine an EX-3 with a nice lens and the Nano-Flash.
From there if you want to jump to a higher level you have to go to the new PANAs.
    Starting in 30.000 US$.

    Hi Rafael,
I can’t wait to get the Nano.

What Panny are you referring to?
HPX-3000? That is a nice camera, but before I spend those big dollars I would test out the Sony XD Cam 700 & 800 cameras.

    Good Luck

    Hi Michael,
I haven’t tried (and probably will never have the chance) any of those cameras. I think that 8b Chroma is enough, but I think that 10b Luminance can make a big difference.
Last year i was shooting with my PD-170 and soon I will be able to record with the Nano, so what else can I ask?

I would go with a RED over any of those high end Panasonic or Sony cameras. The logical step above a EX3 with a NANO Flash would be the RED One (until the Scarlet arrives).

Unless you’re obliged to shoot on your own, like ENG work, for example. Operating a RED One requires a crew, doesn’t it?

    I agree with Don.
With a RED you can not just pick the bag and go to shoot.
I guess that some time they will make something with the same quality but more ENG like.

EX-3 for us has been great, we have 2, we looked at the red yet after researching I kept hearing the words, flaws, issues, and so forth, so I went with the Sony. It’s a great camera, does everything we need it to do, and more. The price is great, the images are great, and the critics, (clients) love the images, and it’s the clients happiness that counts, after all, they pay me. (Music videos) With the red trying to be a feature film camera, you need to drag a pile of people around with you, great if you love to spend lots of money and extra time when the end result is the same thing( a happy client). Everyone who uses the EX-3 falls in love with it, it’s easy to use, you can attach things, and it’s light weight. and the best thing is, no flaws, no issues, it works perfectly every time, and great in low light. As for post, we use mac pros.

for us, it fits in perfectly.

Beautiful…exactly what I needed to read. I am purchasing EX3 to stop using and hiring a Digital Betacam. I was wanting a users opinion and I got it.
