  • what are the best exporting settings?

I have a 55 minute film on Premiere Pro CS3 ready for exporting…its not HD. I shot it with a GL1. Anyway, could someone tell me what the best exporting settings are..codecs etc. to maintain the best quality. My purpose is to author DVD’s from Encore CS4. Thanks in Advance.

Variable 2-Pass encoding will give you the best results. For a 55 min. video, you could easily do a target bitrate of 7 Mbps, Max bitrate of 8 Mbps, and a minimum of 1.5 Mbps

Thank you…so i can just bring it into encore and use those settings and just bypass the step of exporting it from premiere pro?? Does encore use an automatic codec of mpeg2 or h264…I read those are what dvd players read.

DVD Players do not read h264. Only Blu-ray players do. You can go ahead and export your mpeg2 file from Premiere to make things go faster in encore. Use the Adobe Media Encoder, and select MPEG2 DVD as the output. Make sure to set the aspect ratio correctly (it defaults to 4:3)
