I keep getting interlace problems when going form FCP>Automatic Duck>AE>FCP

    Here is my workflow:

    1. DVCpro50 captured NTSE 29.97 capture via Kona LS at 10bit uncompressed lower field 720*486
    2. I edit a sequence and export it via FCP .xml latest version
    3. I import it and select that it be lower field dominant.
    4. Apply effects and color correction etc. (color is broadcast safe)
    5. Render at best setting, lower field, 10-bit uncompressed.
    6. Import into FCP

I thought for sure that this is the correct workflow, but when I play it in FCP it just doesn’t look good. There is edging problems and flicker. I don’t get it.

Would not having “Preserve Edges” selected in Interpret Footage be the cause?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Simple changes I would make.
capture at 8bit uncompressed, 10bit is totally overkill. do your edits and export as a quicktime movie. then open it in AE do your stuff and inport it back to fcp.
