Why is there and offset timecode for each output device ? I ask this because when I try to output to my old DigiBeta Sony DVW-800 with FCP, I set the device offset (+00:00:07) but it works half the time. I black and code the tape with my timeline timecode then I make a sync test, it works, I make the output, 1 frame off, retry, it works, retry, 1 frame off, etc….

I think the DigiBeta comes too old…

Forgot to say that I use a blackburst generator.

    Hi Pierre

I’m seeing the same problems with my Digibeta deck. I’m starting to think that it’s somehow related to the deck and not Final Cut Pro. I’ve done repeated tests to my new DVCPro 100 deck and it’s bang on every time. What kind of output card are you using? 7 frame offset seems like a lot, I use 4 frames with a Blackmagic card.

    Cheers

I also use a Blackmagik card (HD 4:2:2). I know 7 frames is a lot. it was usually set to 4, but for my last project, I needed 7, and for the other one, 5. I’m also thinking that my deck is going wrong and I don’t want to imagine the cost of repairing it!

    Thanks!
    Pete
