    Hi all,

Wondering if you can offer any suggestions, with regards to using Cinema 4D to accomplish the following.

    1. I loved the animation, and I’d like to get the Ghost Text effect seen on this Westwind Pictures Logo seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsElNRCRywk

    2. Secondly, any ideas how I can make the Tree branch out seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NorGpnl7Wg&feature=related and text, for that matter.. (like I want TEXT to pop out)… kind of like the stroke function in AE, but in 3D.

    Would love any input.

    Cheers, Adam.

    P.S. I have C4D 12, Windows XP and a Quad-Core system.

It looks to me like the text may be a particle effect: lot and lots of particles being moved off the text with some kind of 3D noise — like mograph’s random effector in noise mode. Could be blurred in post. OTOH it may be a 2D effect….

I would guess that the tree was done using a purpose-built plugin like Xfrog or DPIT Nature Spirit.

I was thinking the text looked like it was done in After Effects using Trapcode Form.

Rob Redman over at Pariah Studios has a tutorial using the Sweep NURBS to grow branches…granted…he’s going for a more stylized look and not something that looks closer to a real tree.

It’s certainly possible to grow branches with sweepnurbs, but if there was a ton of them it would be a lot of work.
