Today I started to see what I would normally associate with a defective graphic card. Weird pixelation on some stills – not all – in the Library.

This is on a vintage early 2009 Mac Pro, OS 10.11.6, ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB

All else seems fine. I also edit photos in Lightroom and DxO Photo Lab. No issues there.

    Thoughts?

Screen grab of part of the Library in thumbnail view. I usually work in List view.

Strangely enough, a day later and it’s working fine. I did close FCP X and trashed Prefs, but did not restart the computer.
I tried scrolling through the Workspaces – single screen, dual screen – but could not repeat the problem.
