weird things happen when i scroll through timeline
Hi guys !
After effect started doing weird stuffs a couple o f weeks ago…
When I scroll through timeline, my comp doesn’t render right. usually a couple of layer appear distorded, or sometimes the screen flashes white….
for example I’m doing a title clip right now with text and particles, and when I scroll through timeline, the particles disappear, and the text appears upside down, distorded, with something that looks like the vegas effect. and it’s the same when I disable the text layer !!!
I tried the preference trick, changed the quality… nothing changes
Everything works fine when I ram-preview or export it, but this is annoying for editing…

but unfortunately the same thing occurs even though i don’t have any footage in the comp, just text and particles….

hello evryone, i’m new here but this forum is awesome!
dave, i have read many topics these days, many from yours, but nothing solved my problem.
when i scroll with trackpad (even mouse) forward or bckward on the timeline the video preview doesn’t move at all until i release the mouse’s button. then the video preview move to the exact frame where the cursor i positionated on the timeline. but it’s a static view, the only way i can see something before make a ram preview is with the shortcuts which work fine.
I use a macbookpro with 2,8Ghz intel 2 core and 4GB of Ram memory on snow leopard
i updated to after effect to 9.0.2, triple checked prefernces, turned off openGL, reinstalled the whole suite a couple of times and nothing changed!
the only thing i haven’t done is to format the HD and go back to leopard but would like to understand something..if anybody can help or have any idea, even a simple suggestion, please write me
