Weird Sony Vegas 9.0 Procy Error…??
Hello everyone, I’m new to this site, and glad I found it. Unfortunately, I’m having a huge problem with Sony Vegas 9.0.
I’m mostly a music video creator, so this topic is not gonna go on the subject of Video Camera’s, Digital Camera’s, etc.What’s happening is an error when I add a movie. Example: “Building audio proxy for ‘Balto.wmv,’ 1….2…..3.” Then at 3, the error pops up clearly stating “An error occurred while creating a proxy file for a stream.”
Pretty weird error. Not to mention it’s ticking me off.
Oh, and like a little while later (about 3 minutes) the error wears off, and the audio proxy building is done. It might happen to others, but right now, I appreciate some help. Thanks everyone. -

WMV is a terrible format to be editing. Try transcoding your video into a format that edits easier like Cineform, MJPEG, Lagarith, Huffyuv, etc. Anything that uses intraframe compression and PCM audio will stop these problems.
