Weird Problem: Over Exposed areas now appear as a black blobs.
When I was filming I knew there were certain parts of the background that were hot, over 100IRE. I have edited with it and it was fine, just blown out, and I had exported some QTs. But when I returned to the project a week later, these hot areas now appear as black blobs. Is there a setting I have inadvertently turned on that uses black blobs to indicate over 100? See this screen grab, they are the blobs on the left.

i have not used FCP7 for a few years but it might be a prefs change or a setting on the “canvas” area.

did you ever find the cause of the black blobs ?

They might be keying over a black under-layer?

Bo. It does go away when I reduce the brightness filter from 1.2 to 1.1. however, it has never down this before when I added that filter.
