    Hi Guys,

Just started a new project with a 3d particular field, camera pulling back through it.

the first couple of animations work well, particles moving as they should as the camera moves… BUT

when i do the 3rd movement of pulling back the camera moves (i know this as there is some 3d text that moves appropriately) but we have no particle movement till I hit the next stop point and the particles then jump to their end point.

    Please COW help!

    Craig

    EDIT

it only seems to happen on ram preview not final render. Hope this additional information helps!

Have you cleared out your disc cache?

Are you up-to-date on Particular (currently v2.2)? Earlier versions were a bit buggy with the global performance cache.

Updated and it seems to have helped but I have just hit into the same issue with particle size and key frames.

Really bugging me that I cant do what i need :-S

Are there any other settings that could affect it?

Sorry, I’m not quite following what problem you’re seeing. Can you explain or post a couple screenshots?

Just to make sure we’re on the same page — the particle size property applies to a particle at its birth; animating it will not change the size of particles that have already been born.

    hey thanks for the reply

Its nothing to do with particle life, its more for when im interacting with certain properties, its not reflecting these interactions in the preview window.

I change things, it shows but then when i scrub or ram preview it glitches out, particles jumping from one keyframe to the next but not showing the animation between the key frames.

Ive reinstalled ae, tried it in a different version of AE and its still the same…

    Not fun 🙁

Does that problem clear up if you disable the disk cache and then purge RAM?

What versions of Ae have you tried? If you’re on CS6, have you installed all the updates? (There were some cache bugs that were fixed.)
