  • weird message box? post production could not be performed…

Posted by Edwin Gendron on September 28, 2009 at 2:56 pm

    hi,
For editing purposes, I have been converting canon 5d mark II footage from 30P H.264 to “29.97fps Apple Intermediate Codec” within After effects.
at the end of many clips, when the render is on the last frame (or perhaps entirely completed?) …I get this message:

“post production operation could not be performed because item to be replaced is missing”

    clips *seem* ok.

should be worried that this will blow up in my face later during the editing/dvd making process?

what exactly does this message mean?
thanks for any help you can provide.

    running:
    G5 powerPC 1.6G ram
    FCP 4.5 hd (old timer)
    QT v7.6.4.

I *have* to avoid buying “stuff”.
I *do* have to make this work somehow.

have succesfully made a DVD w short clips of canon footage and matched to dv footage.
    workflow is extremely slow though.

how about using a fast modern (borrowed) computer to convert to prores then to Apple intermediate codec then using *that* to edit with?
