    Hi,

I used FCP 4 for the first time today (yeah I know, but I was busy doing other things…) anyway, this weird thing is happening: my function keys, at least some of them, are not doing what they should. I have lost insert, overwrite, replace and superimpose but not log clip and the audio destinations and locks are gone too. Knowing that FCP4 was mappable, I openend the feature and reset it to default without success, I am running 10.3.8 and FCP4 in english. English or american kybd selection in the systems pref do nothing. And when I press those keys I lost the whole display shrinks and shows part of the desktop beneath… another key toggles it back. Any ideas are welcome as I hate to click the mouse around… BTW, all editing functions work, no probs with the work process, just this bizarre kybd behaviour…

    thanks,

    patrice

Sounds like Expose to me. Go to your OS X Preferences > Expose and change the keyboard section to nothing or to keys that won’t give you problems. Expose is very handy by the way. I map mine to either my mouse buttons or to the corners of my screen.
