Weird kerning issue with the 550D
Hi all,
I’m pretty new to using DSLR to video still, and I have a question that will probably be so simple to answer, you’ll roll your eyes and tut at me.
I keep getting a weird issue when I use the camera in low-light. I think I’ve just not quite picked up the whole ISO/aperture thing yet.
I shot this video in Rome, at the Pantheon. The light was fairly low, and I got this weird kerning/strobing effect (scrub to 50 seconds in, and look at the walls to see what I mean, also the cat location had the same issue) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY6XlimqYSM&list=UUAKtEe1jKT3U2AJeCiobU1w&index=4&feature=plcp
What is this exactly? Is it that I need to have the aperture wider?
It’s really annoying, as I want to take this out on a shoot soon, but I need to nail down the camera a bit more.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, the lenses used were the kit lens, and the nifty fifty. I was using a flat picture style (Cinestyle).
