Weird Final Cut Pro issue- Footage looks great in editor but awful on DVD
Hello,
I’m not sure what the problem is. I have a project that is made up of 7 short films. The footage looks great in Final Cut but when I play the burned DVD some of the footage is very pixelated.
Is this a codec problem?
Also this project was originally edited in iMovie. The film looks great in both iMovie and FCP.
I tried to search but didn’t find anything.
Any suggestions on how to fix this is appreciated.

This sounds more like an issue with how the DVD is being made. You did not give any info on your project settings, and no information about how you made the DVD. So without any info it will be impossible to tell you what the issue might be.

NO it isn’t. The quality of the footage in iMovie is better then in Final Cut Pro. I’m wondering if when I imported it to Final Cut Pro if the settings don’t match but I don’t know how to check this.

Your play back settings in FCP may not be set to the highest quality. But that is besides the point, a computer monitor is NOT the place to be judging image quality of video that is playing in FCP. YOU NEED a properly connected and calibrated video monitor for that.
I am still betting money that it has to do with how the DVD was made. And you still have provided absolutely NO info about any of your project or workflow on how you made the DVD.
Without MORE INFO from YOU I nor anyone else can answer your question.
Start by telling us about what type of video you are working with, what project setup you used in FCP and how you made the DVD.
