I have a CS3 project that uses the font Sketch Rockwell throughout (font sample here: https://www.dafont.com/sketch-rockwell.font).

I just upgraded to CS4, and when I open the old project file and update it to the new version, all the Sketch Rockwell text appears as filled in — that is, lacking any of the voids within each letterform that give it that hand-scribbled look.

Even if I try to add a new text layer in AE, the font appears the same way. However, in Photoshop or Illustrator, I can use the font as normal with no problems. Any ideas?

AE’s probably defaulted to Stroking the font. Can’t think fo anything else.

Thanks — it wasn’t Stroke, but you sent me in the right direction. Everything had been made Faux Bold. Mystery solved — much appreciated.
