Weird FCP 5.1.2 XML Batch Capture Bug?
Can’t seem to track this down. Yesterday working on a small, quick project shot 6 years ago on DV and needs to be updated with some newly shot material. Captured all day in dv firewire (which I haven’t done in a long long time) with no problems on a desktop. Worked late, wanted to go home, and took an old clamshell dv deck home to log some remaining tapes on my powerbook. The logging went fine, used the dv easy setup, and everything looked okay. i exported an XML of the bin from my powerbook, zipped it, and transferred to my G5. The XML imported just fine everything looked on the up and up. Went to capture this morning and after every capture, the reel number disappears, good thing I caught this on the first go around otherwise I would have no idea which tape was from which reel. After every tape I added the reel number back in.
I have tried to check and uncheck used logged clip settings, I have tried a modified dv easy setup and i trashed preferences. Also tried exporting XML versions 1,2 and 3.
I don’t really see how the reel number could disappear after the capture.
Anyone else have this problem?
For what it’s worth two days ago I swapped XMLs from another machine I have here to batch capture 10 bit uncompressed through my Kona card and everything went flawlessly. is this a firewire thing?
