I have a Canon XLH1 going SDI into a Blackmagic Card that I use for capture on a weekly basis. We capture to DVCPROHD 1080i60, because that’s what we use for playback.

We just recently started having this issue where our final render would start normal and about 5 frames in, it would stretch outwards. Like someone grabbed the sides and pulled them out.

I know DVCPRO is skinnier than full frame 1080 and the pixel aspect ratio causes it to display correctly, that’s not the issue. It’s almost as if it’s taking a full-frame 1080 video and stretching that out in the same manner so that it’s wider than it should be.

I fixed this on our final render by checking “Recompress all frames”. When I went and looked at my capture scratch, it is having the same problem. I’ve never encountered anything like this before.

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
