I am working on making a trailer for a short. Everything is playing great. It seemed all of a sudden when I played the time line the audio played but the canvas only showed white. It’s a 3 minute piece. Not using an external hard drive.

Go to the top of the Canvas window where the 3 drop down menus are located. Click on the right one and put a check mark beside RGB instead of Alpha. You might have hit the keyboard shortcut for Alpha by mistake.

Never seen this happen in FCP, but if a clip plays back white in QT Pro it generally means you don’t have the required codec installed.

Although it sounds like the clips were playing back ok at one point in FCP, so that’s probably not the problem.
