Weird brightness shifts on export
This is a weird one…when exporting out an Uncompressed 10bit quicktime out of an Uncompressed 10bit sequence there a shift in the brightness level for about 5 frames BEFORE a cut point, on not all….but multiple cut points in the sequence. The number of frames vary, but has done it across multiple machines and projects. The footage is Uncompressed 10bit….everything seems normal.

The Uncompressed 10-bit codec is broken. Been mentioned a lot around here. Do a search for that and find out how. Graeme Nattress goes into it.

To clarify….this is when viewing the exported file in Quicktime. I just layed off to DBeta and that worked fine. And also exported out using QT Conversion to a sorenson and that worked fine. Just full res files…..we can’t seem to fiigure this one out.

AH. Well there is a huge shift in the gamma from when you look at it in FCP as opposed to viewing the Quicktime file in QT. QT will brighten the image. Even if you have HIGH QUALITY checked.
