So I’m capturing old footage from D-2 tapes and when I’m done capturing the video, upon playback the video plays about 120% faster than the audio.

The weird thing about this is that the file itself is intact, and the video matches the audio perfectly. Another strange thing is that it doesn’t do this to ALL of the footage captured, only some of it.

Initially I thought it had something to do with my hardware, but if it only happens sometimes, its confusing the hell out of me.

Just for reference, the computer I’m working on is a bit old. It’s a Mac Pro running OS 10.4 with a G5 2.5 GHz and 3.5GB of RAM. I’m also running AJA Io from the decks into the computer and to an audio board.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your computer is still super fine for SD work. I have had this problem myself in the distant past. Sorry this is happening to you but glad to hear I wasn’t the only one. I don’t remember what the particular set up was then. Probably Final Cut 4. I’ve had an AJA Io though I cant recall if that was the hardware I was on at the time. I would say do the usual: delete preferences, a cold reboot. It might be time to reinstall the machine.
