I have a backup audio recorder I found in my parents house one day and threw it in my bag as a “oh shit” back up but I’ve never downloaded the files because I never needed to.

Yesterday I forgot my Zoom at my house so I used this unit and everything worked great but the audio files are ( .msv ) and I can’t get them to open or respond to anything on my computer. VLC does not even open the file.

Does anyone know how to convert this to mp3 or aiff?

    I’m using MacPro (tin can).

It is a Sony proprietary format. MSV stands for Memory Stick Voice. You will need to find a Windows machine and the Sony plugin for Windows Media Player in order to convert the file to MP3.
