  Weird AE link issue in PPro CS4 Project

  Hi,

  I am removing exit signs and other garbage from a video by cutting it up in PPRO – right click bit – replace with AE composition – remove junk and save. This has worked fine and produced a “blue/gray” clip on my timeline as seen at the bottom of the imagine previously.

  Today after doing so, the clips are now pink/purple. Everything was still fine until I reopened the PPro project and saw the result in the top image, with only the first few seconds there and the rest \\\\\ lines. I deleted the AE composition from PPRO, opened it in AE and re-imported it to PPRO and it works fine until I close AE and I get the \\\\\ problem again.

  

  It can get even weirder where I will have cut out about 3 clips from one piece of footage and sent those to AE composition and named them like part 1 / part 2 / part 3. After closing/reopening if I attempted to import part 3 I would get Part 1 and so on, and things were all jumbled up. I’m pretty confused. Any insight on this?

  If it’s just a terrible software problem any news if this is improved with CS5?
