    Basically the market has little motivation to switch and won’t have until 2016 or so if at all and that would only be if there’s a major change in MPEG-LA’s licensing . . . which they won’t do because they know who butters their toast.

    In short:
    GPU manufacturers would have to be motivated to build in hardware acceleration and they aren’t.
    There would have to a motivation to satisfy Mozilla (FireFox, etc) users but the cost/benefit may be that web developers hold their ground either Mozilla gives or people move to other browser options.
    Apple would have to change it’s iOS thinking (and you’ll never get Tastee Freeze in Hades) and as the months pass, this market share grows exponentially.

    You’d really have to believe Mozilla can motivate GPU manufactures and Apple to expect this to change.
