Web delivery, mix 720/60p with 480/30p or 480/30i?
Title says it all. Shooting for the web (4×3 wmv progressive encode), it’s fast action sports, and I’m going to mix 720/60p with 480/30p or 480/30i. My instinct says since it’s going to be de-interlaced anyway, might as well acquire progressive. Thoughts?
Note: Not shooting all 720/60p for various reasons, though obviously that’d be the sweet spot for sports slow-mo. And that’s why I’m shooting *some* 720/60p.
And while we’re on about 480/30p, I **WISH** you could set FCP to default to “p” on 480 QT’s from P2.

If it’s for web wouldn’t it make more sense to acquire everything in 24p? That way you maximize your data rate and can cram in more video at lower bandwidths. Shoot the sports stuff in slow motion i.e. 60fps/24p timebase.
Otherwise- sure 30p would be better than 30i. No need to deinterlace ever though. Web video can be native progressive without that step and if your footage is all progressive there’s no interlacing to remove anyway so save the trouble.
