    Hey all,

So, a little background. We created a WordPress-based media asset deployment system for one of our clients. This system uses custom field input boxes that include the ability to download video, audio files, pdf and MS Word documents. We use a CDN to host the video and audio assets and use the WordPress library for the pdf and Word documents.

What I am looking for is a way to track how many times a particular asset has been watched (using a HTML-5 player), listened to, clicked on or downloaded. The tracking doesn’t have to ID the IP address or other granular level; just how many times it was watched, clicked on and downloaded.

My thinking is someone in the Advertising vertical might be using something like this. Anyone heard of such a beast?

    Regards,

Are you using a specific player?

Some players can harness Google Analytics for tracking playback.
