WB automatic match in COLOR
Posted by Sascha Engel on June 27, 2011 at 2:31 pmHi,
I asked that Q already in the Color Forum, but nobody responded:
In FCP there’s a nice little feature in the 3-way CC Tool, that you can pick the eyedropper of the highlights wheel, click on your footage in the white are and define the WB like that.
Any similar function in COLOR?Greetings,
Sascha

June 27, 2011 at 3:27 pmNope. You can use the geometry room to temporarily crop to the white area and use the scopes to balance it to white.

June 27, 2011 at 3:52 pm🙁 Sad news, that is kind of a work around. Ok. Will do it like that.
Just hoped there would have been something like the 3-Way-CC method inside COLOR.
Thanx for the tip.Sascha

June 27, 2011 at 6:01 pmThere is an Auto Balance button in there but it generally is terrible. Makes everything blue.
The best auto balance is the person driving the controls. It’s quite easy to balance a shot in there, particularly using the curves in the Primary In room.

June 27, 2011 at 6:11 pmFound it, but that is a total auto balance button – also for contrast, low, mids & highs.
I was just hoping there would be something similar like in the 3-Way-CC from FCP.Sascha

June 28, 2011 at 2:42 amWhen I graded in FCP before moving to Color, I tried that WB dropper and didn’t like it. I prefer to use my eye and the scopes to balance.
