    hi there!

    two questions:
    – how can i be sure (i.e. how can i chack) that after effects IS in fact running multiple instances when rendering (in order to use all the systems cores/ram)?
    – since cs3, does it make sense to purchase nucleo at all? – since nucleo does the very same thing that after effects is doing (that is running multiple instances of after effects when rendering).

    many thanx in advance guys!

if you are on a mac you can open the activities monitor (applications>utilities) while rendering and see the aeselflink applications running and monitor how much of the cpu and ram they are using. windows may have something very similar.

nucleo is unnecessary with cs3 (i think you can still buy it for ae7), but nucleo pro will give you added benefits like allowing to continue working while rendering in the background, previews that can render portions of your comp while you are working on other portions and, from what i’ve heard, will work better with less ram.

i guess sometimes things are too obvious for us to be noticed – or that’s just me…

    thanx again
