August 17, 2010 at 8:28 pmFastMac is where I purchased my internal BluRay burner from. I’m thinking someone like them or anyone else who sells an internal BluRay burner for Mac is probably a good place to start.

August 17, 2010 at 8:39 pmThanks Walter,
I have a burner already. What I need to know is whether I can replace the IDE unit with a SATA unit. This is a MAC Pro with PCI Express slots but it still had an IDE optical drive. I pulled the IDE drive and the computer would not boot.
By the way, I have an editor here working on a project and he asked me if I’d ever heard of Walt Biscardi, one of the top guys in the business. Small world.

August 17, 2010 at 8:44 pmFirst off you need to clarify your system. You say you have a “MacPro, non-intel”. That cannot be as ALL MacPro’s are have intel processors. Are referring to a old PPC?

Too funny and I’m definitely not one of the “top guys in the business.” Just another editor having fun like you guys.
Tell them I said hey! 🙂
